Recruitment

How does Steve Jobs recruit his employees?

It was a hard task to recruit people for Steve Jobs, as not all people possess the creativity and ability to step outside of the box as he did. He looked for people who were experienced, innovative and possessed a passion and will to work in Apple. He preferred people who shared his similar ideals and beliefs as him. He would recruit members for his team, and would not assign recruiting to other members, as he preferred to interview the candidates himself. Although, he would take recommendations from his best friend, Steve Wozniak on people he should recruit. Jobs’ did not want any slackers on his team, as he believed that they would only slow him down, and provide him with poor quality results. Thus, in interviews the only question Jobs’ cares about is, ‘How can you skills and talents benefit Apple Computers?’ If Jobs’ likes what he hears, he then hires them for the job.

Opinions on Steve Jobs recruitment?

In my opinion, Steve Jobs recruitment ideas are completely spot-on, he takes the right decisions to hire people that will benefit the company and bring about change to the world. He wants people that are creative, and that do not contain themselves within boundaries. If I were in Jobs’ place I would do the same, why hire someone that is of no use to you, rather than someone who has the skills and ability to think outside the box, and display creativity through their work. He wants people to stick for what Apple originally stood for, what he stands for. Those are the people that he recruits.
