Motivation

How did Jobs motivate his employees?

Jobs implemented both Theory X and Theory Y, when it seemed suitable for him. Even though, he was quite harsh on the employees who refused to be creative, the employees still respected Jobs. Jobs had to threaten and force people to work, by giving them strict deadlines, and taking away their job security. Although, even after his extreme deadlines, people were motivated and willing to work for Apple, as his words and ideas were motivating. They opened their minds to the vast power of the computers. Other times, Steve Jobs would implement Theory Y, and encourage the employees on a job well done. He would give a lot extra bonuses, when they were deserved. Jobs had an aura that inspired the employees to want to be creative and bring change to the world. They wanted to try and do the impossible.
